Bitcoin Options Market Sees Bullish Rebound Amid Low Volatility
Bitcoin's options market is showing signs of life, with call-side open interest surging to approximately $23 billion. This indicates that traders are leaning towards upside potential rather than hedging against downside risks.
Despite Bitcoin's recent price retreat, the options market is telling a different story. The put/call ratio has shifted to a bullish 0.5, and call-side open interest has increased significantly.
However, low volatility levels suggest that traders might be underestimating potential market turbulence. Short-dated at-the-money volatility has fallen to 34%, indicating limited near-term price swings.
The rebuilding of Bitcoin options open interest to around $34 billion marks renewed engagement, albeit still below 2025 peaks. This cautious optimism reflects a market that is regaining confidence without diving into excessive leverage.
