Bitcoin Options Market Shifts Bullish Amid Defensively Reduced Bearish Bets

Instruments

The options market for Bitcoin is showing signs of shifting sentiment as defensive positioning unwinds. This shift is indicated by a drop in the put/call ratio to around 0.52 from 0.76 in late June, which suggests that traders are reducing their bearish bets.

The 25-delta skew has also decreased, with the one-week skew dropping near 4%, while longer-dated options maintain a defensive premium. This indicates that near-term downside hedging is unwinding, but caution remains for the longer term.

Implied volatility for Bitcoin options remains compressed, with short-term volatility at 34.3% compared to 40.8% for six months. This suggests that while the market is discounting near-term risks, uncertainty persists for the longer term.
