Bitcoin Options Market Signals Shift in Investor Expectations
According to Adam, a researcher at Greeks.live, the recent surge in Bitcoin has led to increased market sentiment and a recovery not just for BTC but across various sectors of the cryptocurrency market. However, as the rise slows, large investors in the options market have adjusted their expectations regarding future price movements.
The implied volatility (IV) of short- and medium-term options has rapidly declined, but remains only about 10% higher than two weeks ago. In contrast, the IV level for medium and long-term options has increased by less than 2%, indicating limited price fluctuations in the coming period.
Greeks.live data shows that approximately 40% of existing option positions will expire at the end of the month, with a notable concentration of options having strike prices between $80,000 and $90,000. This could potentially impact Bitcoin's upward movement if this region is breached, increasing upward pressure on the asset.
