Bitcoin Options Put/Call Ratio Declines as Confidence Returns
The Bitcoin options market has seen a notable shift in recent weeks, according to data from on-chain analytics firm Glassnode. The put/call open interest ratio, which measures the proportion of bearish bets relative to bullish bets, declined to approximately 0.52 from around 0.76 in late June.
This movement suggests that investors are gradually unwinding defensive positions as Bitcoin prices stabilize near $67,000. The data points to a decline in short-term skew, which is the gap in implied volatility between put and call options, further corroborating the easing of defensive positioning among traders.
The shift comes after a period of heightened uncertainty in the crypto market, driven by regulatory developments and macroeconomic pressures. The stabilization of Bitcoin around the $67,000 level appears to have restored some confidence, prompting traders to reduce hedging activity.
