Bitcoin Outflows May Be Short-Lived as Advisors Fuel Inflows
Bitcoin's recent outflows may have been short-lived, as analysts expect increased inflows in the second half of the year. Spot Bitcoin funds saw investors pull money out at the end of last week, erasing nearly half of a seven-day stretch that brought in over $1 billion, according to Morningstar data.
This setback could be attributed to uncertainty surrounding the Clarity Act, which would create a regulatory framework for institutional investors. Roxanna Islam, head of sector and industry research at TMX VettaFi, noted that some lower-cost Bitcoin ETFs are seeing fewer outflows than their more expensive peers, possibly due to retail investors buying back in.
Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise Asset Management, believes financial advisors will drive allocations to crypto ETFs. He stated that advisors may have been hesitant to recommend Bitcoin during the first half's bumpy market conditions but are now more likely to do so as prices stabilize.
