Bitcoin Ownership Overtakes Gold in the US, Signaling Shift in Investor Sentiment

A recent study by River Financial has revealed that Bitcoin ownership in the US has surpassed gold ownership. According to the research, 49.6 million American adults now hold Bitcoin, accounting for 18.6% of the population, while only 28.8 million people, or 10.8%, own gold.

This shift is significant because it points to a broader change in investor behavior and sentiment towards digital assets. The numbers behind this trend are striking: Bitcoin ownership among Americans has risen from 14.3% to 18.6% in just six months, making it one of the fastest-paced adoptions of an asset known for its volatility.

The US government's own holding of BTC is also noteworthy, with a stash of 328,372 worth over $26 billion at current prices. This has become a reference point for reserve legislation, including the American Reserve Modernization Act, which aims to study accumulating Bitcoin using budget-neutral methods.
