Bitcoin Passes $77K, Strategy Treasury Hits Breakeven
Strategy's corporate treasury has finally hit breakeven as Bitcoin (BTC) price passes $77,000. The company's holdings of 840,447 BTC had a cost basis of $75,385.
Data from TradingView showed new local highs above $77,400 prior to the week's final Wall Street open. This marks the highest level since May 26 and has led to concerns over the long-term viability of Strategy's Bitcoin investment thesis being alleviated.
Independent crypto analyst William Clemente suggested that Strategy CEO Phong Le's willingness to sell BTC to rebuy STRC preferred stock in August may have helped alleviate fears. This move represented the company's fourth Bitcoin sale of 2026, and it has since paid off with a year-to-date gain of approximately $450 million.
A new safety net is forming below $70,000, with around 11% of the total supply having an onchain cost basis between $58,000 and $67,000. This cluster could provide key support in case of any retracement.
