Bitcoin Perpetual Futures Traders Turn Slightly Bearish
The long/short ratio for Bitcoin perpetual futures has shifted slightly over the past 24 hours, according to data from Binance, OKX, and Bybit. The aggregate ratio across these exchanges shows that 47.71% of positions are long, while 52.29% are short. This indicates a modest tilt toward short positioning among leveraged traders.
Exchange-level breakdown reveals some differences in sentiment. Binance has nearly balanced market with 49.44% long and 50.56% short, OKX displays the most bearish sentiment with 45.71% long and 54.29% short, while Bybit sits between the two at 47.14% long and 52.86% short.
These ratios can signal shifts in trader sentiment when combined with other metrics like funding rates and open interest changes. A short-skewed ratio often suggests that leveraged traders expect downward price movement in the near term, but it can also indicate potential for a short squeeze if prices rise unexpectedly.
