Bitcoin Pessimism Spikes on Social Media, But Experts See Rebound Ahead

Bitcoin has once again become the subject of pessimism on social media platforms like X, Reddit, and Telegram. The analytics platform Santiment recorded a sharp increase in negative messages about Bitcoin, with phrases like 'dead', 'dying', 'over', 'ended', and 'finished' being widely used.

Experts believe that this rhetoric indicates fatigue among retail investors, who are seeing the current market dip as a final failure. However, Santiment notes that spikes in fear have often occurred before market reversals in the past, and that the crypto market tends to move against the crowd's sentiment.

The current situation may be interesting for buyers who are willing to wait, according to Santiment. The platform suggests that previous waves of similar sentiment were followed by price recoveries, with the price rising by around 10% from its local bottom within one to two weeks.

Bitcoin's price remains in a narrow range, between $60,000 and $66,000, with trading volumes at their lowest level since 2019. The Fear & Greed Index is currently in the 'Fear' zone, which may indicate that the market is due for a rebound.
