Bitcoin Plunges Below $64K Amid Investor Exodus and Tariff Threats
Bitcoin's price surge to $67,000 was short-lived as it dipped below $64,000 earlier today. The sudden drop can be attributed to two main factors: investor sentiment and global trade policies.
The first reason lies in the outflow of investors from spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking Bitcoin. Over $200 million worth of BTC was withdrawn from these funds on Thursday, coinciding with the asset's initial price retracement to around $65,000.
Furthermore, data suggests that BlackRock continued to dispose of BTC for its clients, sending approximately $203 million to Coinbase Prime. This move may have contributed significantly to the price drop.
The second reason behind the price dip is a renewed threat from President Donald Trump's administration regarding tariffs on European Union countries. Historically, such threats have had a negative impact on Bitcoin's price, with last April being a notable example.
