Bitcoin Plunges Below $64K as Altcoins Shine
Bitcoin's price fell below $64,000 as several altcoins showed significant gains. The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a divergence, with rising oil prices and a major currency intervention by Japan contributing to the volatility.
The Bitcoin selloff appears to be a short-term reaction rather than a larger move lower. Traders are actively repositioning, but spot demand needs to back up the move for it to become convincing. If Bitcoin holds above its 200-week moving average near $63,300, a rebound toward $65,000 resistance becomes possible.
Several altcoins outperformed the broader market, including Hyperliquid, which rose 4.26% to $55.30 due to strong on-chain fundamentals and record trading volume. Cardano also broke out of a symmetrical triangle pattern, confirmed by higher volume, with a 2.36% increase to $0.170.
