Bitcoin Posts Best Month Since November 2024 Amid Short Squeeze
Bitcoin has had a tumultuous year, marked by concerns over blockchain technology and the Iran war. However, recent months have seen a significant uptick in the cryptocurrency's value, with Bitcoin reaching its highest monthly gain since November 2024.
The world's largest cryptocurrency surged ~25% in August, posting its best month of the year. This increase was fueled by a massive short squeeze and developments in the bond market, which saw the US Treasury plan to increase bond repurchases.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) also experienced their best month of the year in August, with over $3.5 billion in net inflows reported by SoSoValue data on CoinTelegraph.
While analysts are growing more bullish about Bitcoin's prospects, predicting that the crypto winter may be over, making long-term predictions remains challenging due to the asset's volatility.
