Bitcoin Price Cautiously Optimistic as Kalshi Traders Bet on $67,500
The Bitcoin price is stuck near $65,500, a key hurdle for its recovery. However, prediction market Kalshi suggests that traders expect it to breach this level and reach $67,500 by August. This optimism comes despite the fact that August has historically been a weak month for Bitcoin.
Crypto analyst Joao Wedson believes that the market has not yet reached its bottom, suggesting that more downside could be ahead. The current price of BTC is trading below the short-term holder realized price of around $67,523, which creates a problem for the recovery. If the price returns to this level, investors who bought recently may look to sell at breakeven.
Kalshi traders give Bitcoin a 54% chance of moving above $67,500 by the end of August. However, the chances become lower as the price target rises. For example, reaching $70,000 has only a 31% probability, while going above $72,500 is even less likely at just 13%. This indicates that traders expect some recovery but not a significant price jump.
The Bitcoin ETFs are showing some hope for buyers, with around 11,792 BTC worth about $754 million flowing into ETF wallets this week. However, Joao Wedson's analysis suggests that the current move looks more like a normal correction than a confirmed bottom.
