Bitcoin Price Drops Below Key Trend Line Amid Bear Market Fears
Bitcoin's price lost its 200-week trend line as it started the new week around $63,000. This development has some analysts drawing parallels to the 2022 bear market. The 200-week moving average was a key level in the previous downturn, and now it has been breached again.
The current trading range for Bitcoin is between $57,700 and $67,300. Despite last week's close below the 200-week moving average at $64,216, there was a modest rebound on Sunday, with local highs of $63,655 on Bitstamp.
However, analysts are cautioning that the bear market history continues to repeat itself. Benjamin Cowen noted that in both summer 2022 and 2026, Bitcoin capitulated below the 200-week SMA before bouncing back and then giving up again in mid-August.
