Bitcoin Price Drops to Bear Market Lows Amid Strategy's $32M BTC Sale

Strategy's disclosure of selling 32 BTC sparked a market-wide correction that led to nearly $5 billion in futures market liquidations and a Bitcoin price drop to $59,500. Despite this, data shows investors buying the dip.

The sale was not unexpected, as Strategy had previously hinted at selling some Bitcoin to fund investor dividends. In May, CEO Michael Saylor said, 'We'll probably sell some bitcoin to fund a dividend just to inoculate the market.'

Strategy's corporate treasury holds 843,706 BTC, making the 32 BTC sale insignificant in comparison.

Saylor framed the sell-off as an opportunity, saying, 'Capital markets are funding the AI buildout at historic scale: ~$400B over 6 months. Bitcoin ETFs have seen ~$4B of outflows since May 14, pressuring BTC. This is a capital rotation, not a Bitcoin impairment.'

Bitcoin's price dropped 23% to a year-to-date low, but some indicators suggest the market may be due for a mean reversion.
