Bitcoin Price Enters 'Fire Sale' Zone Amid Cycle Duration Similarities
The Bitcoin price has dropped to its lowest point in terms of the Rainbow model, indicating that it may be entering the 'fire sale' zone. According to the model, if a price falls below its historical trend, it will move through progressively cheaper bands until it reaches this zone. At present, BTC is trading 66% below the $186,700 model price, placing it in this lowest band.
The Rainbow model uses valuation bands to categorize Bitcoin's price based on its relationship to long-term growth trends. The current price has fallen below the trend, indicating that it may be due for a recovery. Historically, similar extremes have aligned with accumulation periods, but they do not technically identify the final bottom.
Looking at cycle duration, the current cycle has reached day 1,363, which is roughly 69-73 days away from matching the previous two cycle bottoms around days 1,432 and 1,436. However, valuation conditions remain different, with Bitcoin having declined 49-50% from its $126,000 October peak.
