Bitcoin Price Faces Bearish Pressure as Miners Suffer Losses and Pivot to AI

The Bitcoin network is facing near-term bearish pressure due to miner losses and forced AI pivots, making the August 7 price level a relevant short-horizon test. BTC's price at 4PM UTC on August 7 was above $64,000, with a 69% chance of being above this level. This is in contrast to other prices, as there was a 100% chance it would be above $60,000 and $62,000.

Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) reported a $1.26 billion net loss in Q1 FY26 on revenue of just $174.6 million, with a trailing twelve-month profit margin of -234.83%. This deep loss, along with -$531M in levered free cash flow, signals the core mining business is burning cash faster than it can be replaced.

CleanSpark also posted a $239.8M net loss ($0.89 per basic share) alongside double-digit revenue declines, confirming the earnings pressure is sector-wide and not company-specific. The simultaneous weakness across major public miners points to structural stress in Bitcoin's mining economics post-halving.
