Bitcoin Price Hangs in Balance Ahead of US CPI Data Release
The Bitcoin price hovered around $64,027 as investors anxiously awaited the release of the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data. The CPI report could significantly impact the cryptocurrency's performance, with analysts predicting that a reading above 3.4% would lead to market losses and a decrease in inflation could trigger an increase in the price.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is set to release the July CPI data at 8:30 AM ET today. Economists forecasted a 0.1% monthly increase in headline inflation following June's 0.4% decline, with core CPI expected to rise by 2.5% yearly.
The outcome will also influence the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates in September. A milder inflation rate would reduce pressure on policymakers to implement tight monetary policies, potentially weakening the US dollar and affecting risk assets like Bitcoin.
