Bitcoin Price Holds Near $63,400 as Accumulation Signs Emerge
Bitcoin's price has hovered around $63,400 in recent trading sessions, but on-chain signals suggest accumulation is underway. According to CryptoQuant data, exchange reserves have decreased by 78,000 BTC over the past six months, from 2.783 million to 2.705 million BTC. This withdrawal of coins from exchanges indicates that long-term holders are moving their assets into self-custody.
This trend is often referred to as 'quiet accumulation,' where investors prefer to hold onto their coins rather than sell them on the market. The decrease in available inventory can reduce sell-side liquidity and amplify a potential recovery when demand improves.
Despite this, the Bitcoin price still faces macro pressure from various sources. Federal Reserve rate expectations have risen, with markets assigning a 38% chance of a 25-basis-point increase this week. Additionally, technology shares are experiencing weakness, with South Korea's Kospi dropping nearly 11% and Japan's Nikkei falling about 4%. Nasdaq futures have also weakened ahead of earnings from major tech companies.
