Bitcoin Price Holds Steady at $64,940 Amid Weaker Jobs Report
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has been holding steady at around $64,940 as of August 7, 2026, up about 0.8% over the past 24 hours and roughly 2.8% over the past week.
This movement is largely attributed to the weaker-than-expected July jobs report in the U.S., which made it less likely for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates again.
The report showed a loss of 23,000 new jobs instead of the expected 80,000, and the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.1%.
As a result, futures markets have adjusted their expectations, pricing in a roughly 56% chance that the Fed will pause at its September 16 meeting.
