Bitcoin Price Hovers Near $65K Amid Security Flaws and Fork Concerns
Bitcoin's price climbed to $64,986 on Saturday, up 0.61% from the previous day, as it approached the psychologically significant $65,000 mark.
The price increase comes despite security concerns surrounding BTCPay Server and a potential hard fork proposal known as BIP-110.
An exploit in BTCPay Server allowed hackers to extract authentication credentials from Lightning nodes, giving them control over sensitive digital keys. Developers have urged users to update their software or shut down servers immediately.
The BIP-110 proposal aims to restrict non-transactional data on the blockchain but has raised concerns about potential chain fragmentation and transaction replay vulnerabilities.
