Bitcoin Price Not Definitive Measure of Crypto Industry, Says BitGo CEO
BitGo CEO Mike Belshe says Bitcoin's price is not a definitive measure of the broader digital-asset industry. He calls it a 'barometer of excitement' that shows when investors are enthusiastic about the space.
Belshe points out that people tend to focus on short-term price movements, but the longer-term growth of the digital-asset ecosystem is what really matters.
He emphasizes the importance of clearer rules and regulations in the industry, citing the Clarity Act as a key piece of legislation. Belshe believes that this act should be 'really pretty non-controversial' and provide a legislative framework for the crypto market.
The BitGo CEO also notes that traditional financial institutions are increasingly participating in the digital-asset ecosystem, which is a more important indicator of its development than Bitcoin's price.
