Bitcoin Price Rally Limited by AI Investment Boom, Warns Arthur Hayes
Bitcoin's price rally near $64,000 remains limited due to investor capital flowing into artificial intelligence-related investments, according to Arthur Hayes. The co-founder of BitMEX noted that increased money supply conditions have not led to more momentum for the cryptocurrency.
Hayes attributed this stagnation to the AI investment cycle absorbing available market liquidity that would otherwise flow into cryptocurrencies. He also mentioned that individuals benefiting from the AI sector are focusing on hard assets or Nasdaq-related investments rather than increasing their crypto exposure.
Other analysts have pointed toward increased pressure within the cryptocurrency sector, with ARK Invest researcher Lorenzo Valente warning of a deeper consolidation phase compared to earlier downturns. According to Valente, capital allocation has become increasingly concentrated among fewer projects, and companies without strong product-market fit may exit the market.
The Middle East conflict has also added another factor influencing market conditions, affecting energy markets as investors monitored potential supply disruptions.
