Bitcoin Price Rally Stalls After Massive Options Expiry
The recent Bitcoin price rally appears to have stalled after a massive $9.6 billion options expiry, with many of those contracts expiring at the $64,000 level.
Greeks.live reported that 149,000 Bitcoin options worth $9.6 billion expired, with a put-call ratio of 0.28 and max pain concentrated at $64,000.
Despite this large expiry, the price of Bitcoin remained near $63,824 shortly after settlement, suggesting that the market may not be responding as expected to these expiring contracts.
Greeks.live noted that call-heavy positioning did not confirm a bullish breakout, with many calls concentrated above the market price, particularly around the $70,000 and $72,000 strikes.
