Bitcoin Price Rally Validates Brandt's Forecast, Despite Timing Discrepancy
Veteran trader Peter Brandt correctly predicted that Bitcoin would fall to $58,000 in July, but his timing was off.
In January, when Bitcoin traded near $92,400, Brandt forecasted a drop to between $58,000 and $62,000. He initially expected this move to occur within two weeks, but it didn't materialize until months later during the 2026 downturn.
BTC indeed reached Brandt's target zone in July, trading at around $57,717 on July 1. However, he did not remain bearish after the market's chart structure changed. Instead, he 'bought the breakout' when Bitcoin moved above its neckline and began a rally.
The recent surge in Bitcoin's price, which saw it reach $79,500 before retreating to around $76,600, has led some to claim that Brandt's forecast was incorrect. However, this ignores the fact that his target zone was eventually reached.
