Bitcoin Price Rebounds, But Exchange Reserves Suggest Sellers May Be Lurking
Bitcoin news headlines have been filled with bullish sentiment lately, but some analysts are questioning whether the bull market is actually here. According to recent data, Bitcoin exchange reserves on Binance have surged to levels not seen since late 2024, sparking concerns that investors may be preparing to sell.
In a CNBC interview, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong mentioned that the market could be headed for another bullish phase in Q4, citing the halving cycle and the CLARITY Act as potential catalysts. However, despite this optimism, whale order books on Binance appear to be leaning towards short-term profit-taking, with whales selling roughly $20.27 million worth of BTC in the last 24 hours alone.
Large short positions on derivatives exchanges such as Binance and OKX also suggest that whale sentiment remains bearish. While these large short positions do not necessarily indicate a price pivot, they do signal that whales are not convinced about the bull market.
