Bitcoin's price retreated to around $79,250 after briefly reaching a multi-month high of approximately $81,200. The decline followed a rally of about 25% from the $63,000, $65,000 region, where Bitcoin moved through key resistance levels before meeting heavier selling pressure above $80,000.

The overbought daily relative strength index (RSI) reading of 82.44 places BTC deep inside overbought territory, increasing the risk of consolidation or a pullback as early buyers lock in gains. However, strong 4-hour trend readings show that the wider breakout structure remains intact, with an average directional index (ADX) standing at 56.52 and bull bear power remaining positive.

Liquidation data places key liquidity clusters near $78,000 and between $81,000 and $82,000, indicating areas where leveraged positions may face forced closure. The broader derivatives readings do not yet show a fresh liquidation event accompanying the retreat, with market-wide liquidations standing at $179.2 million.
