Bitcoin Price Soars to Record Weekly Gain Amid ETF Frenzy
Bitcoin's price surged to a record weekly gain, adding $14,264 to close at $77,387. The increase marked a 22.7% rise in seven days and brought the key $80,000 level into focus for traders.
The rally followed the U.S. Treasury Department's decision to expand its buyback program, which improved market sentiment quickly. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index climbed to 78, its highest reading since December 2024.
Demand also strengthened across U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, with funds recording $1.92 billion in net inflows during the trading week ended Aug. 21. Analysts said sustained ETF demand could help confirm whether the rally has support from spot buyers rather than short-term leverage.
