Bitcoin Price Splits Between Whales and Retail Traders Ahead of Fed Meeting
Bitcoin's price is being influenced by two distinct groups: large investors and retail traders. According to Binance data, deposits of BTC by whales have decreased by 44% in June, while smaller investors' deposits have dropped by 22%. This indicates that whales are not unloading their coins before the upcoming Federal Reserve policy meeting.
The market is showing a split between these two groups. While retail traders are depositing almost twice as much Bitcoin as whales, large investors appear to be holding back. The price of Bitcoin currently stands at $64,813.60.
Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO, believes that the recent ETF selling was not due to panic but rather a short-term risk reduction. He expects institutional demand to recover if macroeconomic uncertainty continues to ease.
The upcoming Federal Reserve meeting on July 28-29 will likely determine the next direction for institutional capital. Levin predicts that if Bitcoin's price closes above $65,000 on Monday with high volume, institutions will reposition themselves in the market.
