Bitcoin Price Stagnation Triggers 'Crypto Is Dead' Chatter Amid Market Rebound Fears
The recent price stagnation of Bitcoin near $63,000 has triggered a surge in 'crypto is dead' chatter across social media platforms, according to analytics firm Santiment. The firm noted that such fear language often appears when retail patience breaks and traders treat temporary weakness as permanent failure.
Santiment pointed out that similar pessimistic spikes have historically preceded market rebounds. In June, the firm observed that crypto discussions had reached their highest level since mid-February, and the previous major spike was followed by a market rebound.
The AI model ChatGPT outlined a theoretical path for Bitcoin to fall below $10,000, requiring simultaneous global liquidity shocks, institutional outflows, and forced deleveraging. On-chain data shows large wallets accumulating, with the number of addresses holding at least 10,000 BTC reaching a six-month high.
Crypto Patel, a market analyst, said investors calling Bitcoin 'dead' may be missing the bigger picture. Whales may view the same period as a long-term accumulation zone.
