Bitcoin Price Stalls at $80k as Ceiling Nears

Bitcoin's recent price surge has stalled at around $80,000, just shy of its upper ceiling of $86,000. According to Glassnode and Kucoin data, this range is significant because it marks a zone where long-term holders have been accumulating BTC, with approximately 1.07 million coins purchased between $83,000 and $86,000.

The derivatives market also shows a similar ceiling at the same level. The short liquidation zone between $82,000 and $86,000 has grown by 21% since August's short squeeze, while the entire map has shrunk by one-third. A sustained breakout above $86,000 would consume the densest cluster of short liquidations on the map.

Meanwhile, the institutional breakeven point is just slightly above at around $86,000. The U.S. spot ETF complex has a breakeven point near this level as well, having closed below it for 228 consecutive trading days with paper losses bottoming at approximately $18 billion in February.
