Bitcoin Price Surge Adds $15 Billion to Estimated Satoshi Holdings
A recent surge in Bitcoin's price has added $15 billion to the estimated value of Satoshi Nakamoto's holdings, bringing it to $20.8 trillion won. The total value of approximately 1.096 million BTC held by Satoshi-linked addresses tracked by Arkham Intelligence is now estimated at $85.82 billion, or around 11.87 trillion won.
The actual holding has not been confirmed, but the fact that these addresses have never moved since being mined has made Satoshi a prime candidate for the world's largest Bitcoin holder as a single entity.
Market attention was also drawn to long-dormant wallets created around the time when Satoshi was last active in the community. One such wallet, which had been dormant for over 14 years, recently moved 40 BTC worth around $200 at the time of acquisition, but now valued at about $3.14 million.
The transfer occurred on block 964127 and was received by German cryptocurrency custody service provider Boerse Stuttgart Digital. Analysts have noted that while movement of long-dormant holdings does not necessarily imply increased selling, it remains a variable the market will need to watch as prices fluctuate.
