Bitcoin Price Surge: Bullish Divergence and ETF Inflows Point to Potential Bull Run

The recent price surge of Bitcoin, from around $64,000 to just under $80,000 in four sessions last week, has been attributed to several factors. However, a closer look at the weekly momentum divergence on the Bitcoin chart reveals that it was building up for months before any of these events.

A bullish divergence occurred when the Relative Strength Index (RSI) made higher lows while price made lower lows in the first half of 2026 and again into mid-2026. This is a rare occurrence, similar to what happened during the second half of 2022, leading up to the bear market low.

The daily chart also showed a significant move in RSI, from the low 40s to above 80 within a handful of sessions. This was seen before in December 2022 and January 2023 when price compressed and volatility went away.

Additionally, US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $1.92 billion over five sessions, their best week of 2026 and largest since October 2025, with Ethereum funds adding $697.2 million, taking the combined intake to $2.6 billion.
