Bitcoin Price Surge Triggers Massive Short Liquidations, Institutional Demand Rises
A recent surge in Bitcoin's price led to over $416 million in short liquidations and around $88 million in longs within 24 hours, affecting approximately 119,000 traders.
This leveraged rally also triggered a one-hour spike on September 3 that wiped out around $47.5 million of Bitcoin shorts.
Strive bought 1,800 BTC for around $143 million (average price of $79,431) between August 24 and 28, increasing its Bitcoin spot CFD holdings to 23,156 BTC.
The purchases were funded through stock sales, without debt or pledged Bitcoin.
