Bitcoin's price surge above $65,000 has led to liquidations in highly leveraged short positions. One major player suffered significant losses when their approximately $117 million worth of Bitcoin short positions were forced to close during the price increase.

The whale in question still holds a short position of around 1,440 BTC, valued at over $93 million, following the liquidation. The current liquidation price for this open position is roughly $65,042.

According to on-chain analytics platform Glassnode, long-term investors, or 'strong hands,' continue to accumulate Bitcoin despite recent price fluctuations. This behavior is often indicative of a market bottom formation process.
