Bitcoin Price Surges as Fed's Waller Hints at Steady Interest Rates
Bitcoin rallied after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller hinted at keeping interest rates steady in September. The price jumped by 4.5% to $81,370 on Sept. 3, and is now near $80,840.
The move above the $80,000 resistance zone followed Waller's comments that he could support holding rates unchanged if August inflation data shows further cooling.
However, a daily close above the $81,000 to $82,500 zone would be required for a strong breakout and potentially move Bitcoin towards $83,450. Analyst Franklin identified this level as key in case of a successful falling-wedge breakout.
