Bitcoin Price Surges Past $71k as Institutional Investors Flood ETFs
Bitcoin's price has surged past $71,000 for the first time in almost six months, following significant inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs. According to SoSoValue data, these funds recorded their highest daily inflows since May, totaling $517.2 million on August 19.
The largest contributor to this influx was BlackRock's IBIT, accounting for over 50% of the day's total intake with a net inflow of around $285 million. Fidelity's FBTC and Ark Invest's ARKB also reported notable inflows of $62.4 million and $77.7 million respectively.
This surge in institutional interest is being driven by positive regulatory developments, including new crypto regulations proposed by the US SEC and plans to finalize stablecoin rules in the GENIUS Act. These changes have sparked a sense of optimism across the industry, with fresh funds flowing into the Bitcoin ETF market.
