Bitcoin Price Teeters on $65,800 Breakout Threshold
Bitcoin's price has been hovering near $65,100 as it attempts to break above its key resistance level of $65,800. Analyst Michaël van de Poppe notes that a successful weekly breakout above this level could unlock further gains for the cryptocurrency.
Van de Poppe highlights that breaking above $65,800 will increase the bullish probability and potentially lead to targets of $73,700 and $82,900. He also references momentum indicators across longer timeframes, including bull divergences in the MACD and RSI indicators, which indicate a weakening down trend.
The analyst compares these signals to those seen during Bitcoin's bottoming out last year and notes that breakouts in several altcoins have followed similar patterns. Van de Poppe also observes that long positions have been flushed out multiple times, but each instance has not led to a move lower in Bitcoin's price.
