Bitcoin Price Tug-of-War: Institutional Demand vs Regulatory Uncertainty
The Bitcoin price is facing a tug-of-war between institutional demand and regulatory uncertainty. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $853.5 million in weekly net inflows, marking their strongest week since April and giving the Bitcoin price fresh institutional support.
However, the CLARITY Act, which aims to establish clearer rules for digital assets, has been delayed until a mid-September Senate procedural vote. This delay removes a near-term regulatory catalyst that traders had been watching.
The BIP-110 fork, designed to restrict non-financial data such as images and Ordinals-style inscriptions for one year, failed after mining only two blocks with 2.53% miner support. The minority chain then fell more than 80 blocks behind Bitcoin and inherited its reported 127.48 trillion mining difficulty.
The key question now is whether the institutional buying can keep supporting the Bitcoin price as the market waits for clearer U.S. crypto rules.
