Bitcoin Price Volatility Masks Institutional Demand Growth
The price of Bitcoin has experienced sharp fluctuations in the past week, starting at around $78,000 in early September and surging above $82,000 before falling back below $80,000. However, despite this volatility, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded net inflows for the third consecutive week, signaling a recovery in institutional demand.
The data shows that US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a net inflow of $986.9 million last week, with BlackRock's IBIT fund standing out with total net inflows reaching approximately $3.8 billion over the past three weeks, marking the strongest three-week inflow streak for Bitcoin ETFs in 2026.
Presto Research analyst Min Jung considers higher-than-expected US inflation data a significant risk that could dampen the upward trend in Bitcoin, while Zeus Research analyst Dominic John stated that the bullish pattern in Bitcoin will remain valid if the $80,000 level is maintained, predicting prices to rise towards $82,000-$85,000.
