Bitcoin Prices May Rise as Super Trend Indicator Flips Bullish
Bitfinex analysts believe that Bitcoin prices may rise in the short term despite recent volatility, which has caused hundreds of millions in liquidations. The key to this analysis is the Super Trend indicator, a trend-following tool that has given the first signs of a bullish market for Bitcoin. According to Bitfinex, the Super Trend index turned positive on the weekly chart, marking the first time it has flipped bullish since the downtrend began.
The Super Trend indicator uses Average True Range (ATR) volatility numbers to identify trends. If the indicator line remains above the price line, it means sellers are in control and the price is in a downtrend. However, if the indicator line remains below the price, as it has on the weekly chart, it indicates that buyers are in control.
Bitfinex analysts suggest using Super Trend as a trailing stop for long positions and exiting when the indicator flips bearish. The recent positive turn on the Super Trend index may be attributed to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's announcement that the U.S. Treasury would double its long-end buybacks from September 9 through November 4, which has been correlated with Bitcoin prices.
