Bitcoin Puzzle Linked to Genesis Block Remains Unsolved
A Bitcoin puzzle created in August 2026 has generated interest among blockchain analysts and the community. The puzzle is linked to information in the Genesis Block, which was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on January 3, 2009.
The creator of the puzzle used data from the Genesis Block to generate a wallet with extremely low entropy, requiring no backup.
Two questions were posed to the puzzle creator, who revealed that the witness script is a multisig and that two keys are required. However, he left it up to the solver to derive the remaining details.
The jackpot for solving the puzzle now stands at 125,779 sats (nearly $111), with some analysts estimating that over 19 billion candidate scripts have been eliminated in the process of trying to solve it.
