Bitcoin Rallies 25% to Near $80K Amid Treasury Buybacks and ETF Inflows
Bitcoin's price surged approximately 25% this week, reaching nearly $80,000 following expanded U.S. Treasury buyback operations on long-term bonds.
The Treasury Department announced plans to double its buyback program for longer-maturity government securities, increasing the purchase amount to $4 billion per operation.
Market analysts attribute the rally partially to a historic short squeeze alongside improving macroeconomic factors and expanding U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which recorded net inflows of $1.6 billion over the past week.
