Bitcoin Rallies Past $73K as Analysts Eye ETF Demand
Bitcoin has pushed past $73,000 after an 11% rally in 24 hours, but analysts say continued ETF and spot demand will determine whether the breakout holds. The surge was fueled by a record short squeeze and falling U.S. Treasury yields.
Nicolai Søndergaard, Senior Research Analyst at Nansen, attributed the move above $70,000 to forced short covering, institutional demand, and improved liquidity conditions.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs drew in $517 million on August 19, their strongest inflow since May, with analysts expecting sustained inflows to be unlikely without additional confirmation from U.S. interest rates, the CLARITY Act, or expanded access through retirement accounts.
