Bitcoin Rally Ends with Price Drop as Market Corrects

Bitcoin's (BTC) recent rally has come to an end, at least for now. After surging past $81,000 on Tuesday, it dropped by roughly $3,000 and is currently trading around $78,000. The price increase was swift, with Bitcoin gaining over $15,000 in less than 48 hours last week.

The rally, which began a week ago, saw the primary cryptocurrency reach new heights not seen since May when it was halted by a few grand. It's not surprising that it corrected before continuing its upward trend. This is a common pattern in markets, where assets experience significant price increases followed by corrections.

Other larger-cap altcoins followed a similar trajectory, with XRP (Ripple) slumping by over 4% and ZEC dropping by more than 7%. DOGE, SOL, and ADA also experienced declines of around 5%, while RAIN skyrocketed by over 20%.
