Bitcoin Rally Fizzles Out at $80K as Altcoin Prices Plummet
Bitcoin's recent rally has stalled at $80,000, marking a significant correction after reaching a new three-month peak of almost $81,000 on Tuesday. The price surge began last Wednesday when BTC broke above $65,000, and it quickly gained over $15,000 in just 48 hours.
However, as the article notes, 'it was almost inevitable to correct before the bulls could step on the gas pedal once again.' Indeed, the cryptocurrency slipped to $75,000 during the weekend before bouncing back to its current price of around $78,629.00.
The correction has also affected other larger-cap altcoins, with XRP plummeting by over 4% and ZEC dumping by more than 7%. In contrast, RAIN has skyrocketed by more than 20%.
