Bitcoin Rally Hits Overbought Levels Amid Regulatory Optimism
Bitcoin is experiencing a short-term rally, but signs of exhaustion are already appearing on several technical indicators. The cryptocurrency has surged 5.31% to $68,150 today, with all short-term timeframes flashing 'Strong Buy' signals.
The hourly RSI is at overbought levels of 81.5, while the 5-hour RSI is at 84.6. Meanwhile, the weekly chart remains neutral, with a negative MACD of -5,272.
Regulatory optimism appears to be driving the surge, with the SEC's proposed 'Regulation Crypto Assets' and President Trump's meeting with crypto CEOs fueling the momentum. Large holders have also accumulated around 43,000 BTC ($2.75B) over the past 60 days.
The hourly ADX at 48.1 confirms a strong intraday trend, but three consecutive bearish candlestick patterns on the 1H suggest sellers are stepping in near the $69,930 high. The weekly ADX at 16.5 indicates no established weekly trend, this is a range-bound market catching a bid.
While some analysts see momentum as an opportunity to buy, others argue that the RSI above 80 on two timeframes and bearish engulfing patterns on the 1H indicate early exhaustion signals.
