Bitcoin Rally Hits Warning Signs as Reserves Reach 2026 High
Bitcoin's recent rally has reached its peak in August with a 24% increase. However, this surge has also triggered three warning signs that could indicate a potential reversal. The first sign is the rise of Bitcoin reserves on Binance to 687,000 BTC, the highest level recorded in 2026.
Experts suggest that traders move coins onto an exchange to sell or hedge, which can increase supply available for sale. This situation could be problematic as the next move above $80,000 may depend on whether spot and ETF demand can absorb the additional supply potentially available to the market.
The second warning sign is the ETF inflow streak breaking with a $201.8 million net outflow on August 28. This event ended nine consecutive days of inflows, which came as Bitcoin recorded its largest weekly dollar gain on record.
Finally, analyst Crypto Rover argued that the weekend advance lacked spot participation and suggested that leverage was driving the move.
