Bitcoin Rally May Mark Turning Point as Durable Bottom Forms
Grayscale says this week's sharp rally in Bitcoin may be a turning point for the cryptocurrency. The rally, which pushed the price to $79,500 on August 21, is seen as a sign that the market has formed a more durable bottom.
A chart published by Grayscale shows that Bitcoin's current decline of around 50% from its peak is shallower than earlier cycle declines. This suggests that the market may be absorbing the downturn without repeating earlier losses of approximately 80%.
The analysis also notes that institutional demand for Bitcoin has been improving, which could support a continued recovery. The asset manager pointed to renewed spot demand and ETF inflows as evidence of this trend.
However, Grayscale also cautioned that there are still risks in the market, including higher interest rates and weaker liquidity, that could test the latest gains. While some analysts believe that Bitcoin may be nearing or entering an accumulation phase, others have expressed concerns about the sustainability of the current rally.
