Bitcoin Rebound Fuels Surge in Crypto-Linked Equities
Crypto-linked equities surged in premarket trading as Bitcoin staged a sharp recovery. The price of the cryptocurrency climbed from $65,769 on March 1 to $71,500 on March 2.
The three companies most closely tied to Bitcoin's movements saw significant gains: Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) rose by 6.7%, Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) advanced 5.6%, and Circle (NYSE: CRCL) increased by 2.9%. These companies have distinct but meaningful exposure to Bitcoin's price movements, making them reliable proxies for investor sentiment toward the broader crypto market.
Circle's momentum was also driven by a strong earnings report, with Q4 revenue coming in at $770.23 million, up 77% from the previous quarter. However, whether these premarket gains would hold into the regular session hinged on Bitcoin's ability to sustain its footing above the $71,000 level.
